Professional Information Online began when a group of professional people went looking for an IT solution to managing and compiling their ever increasing, paper based, professional information. We didn’t find anything available to meet our exacting requirements so we made our own!!
Why are we different? Our product has been designed by professional individuals who have the same challenges as you. We are not a technology company creating a product we hope will be of benefit. We know our product will be of benefit as our people use it today.
Our People
We have worked in the healthcare and information technology sectors, collectively for over
50 years in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Applying our collective knowledge of systems, professions and information technology, we are proud to have created services and functionality we know will make good sense to professionals and the organisations they work in.

Lois Boyd RN, MA (Applied), Nsg
Nurse Consultant
Lois is a registered nurse who has maintained her own professional portfolio for the past 25 years. While studying and developing eLearning, Lois started thinking about possibilities for converting her paper portfolio into an electronic format. Ideas to reduce the paper war such as enabling easy sharing, modifying, auditing and tracking of all of her professional information, prompted the beginnings of PIO design.
Working as a freelance nurse consultant on short to medium term projects for a
wide range of health related organisations, Lois is happiest when helping others
to reach their professional potential. She is very aware of how important it is
for professionals to maintain their competence and evidence professional development.
Lois will also be offering eLearning packages and online clinical supervision
from this site.
Darren Markham
Darren is an IT professional with over 25 years experience of delivering business
software. He has worked in the healthcare industry for the past 15 years
developing many systems providing clinical and business workflow improvement
using technology to deliver improved outcomes. Darren is passionate about
using technology in a positive way by placing the person at the centre of the
application and ensuring the technology supports them.
Recent achievements include the solution designer for the HINZ 2014 Clinician
Challenge winning entry.
